About The Position

The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for performing mechanical preventative maintenance, repair, building alterations, and monitoring building automation systems for all Building Authority buildings. This role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on various systems including HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing. Additionally, the technician will handle snow removal, maintain a clean work area, and perform specialized duties related to the smoke and fire evacuation system. The position requires assisting all Building Authority departments and complying with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a background check (criminal history check, employment verification)
  • Valid Driver’s License since you may be required to drive company vehicles.
  • EPA Certification.
  • ACM Certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Previous experience with pneumatic and electronic controls.
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and platforms at various heights, safely.
  • Previous experience and working knowledge with building automation systems.
  • Previous experience and working knowledge with the preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of all types of HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, and various plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance and repair for various types of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and all plumbing systems including Air Lines, Exhaust Fans, Compressors, Water Pumps, Security Doors, Water Softeners, Pressure Vessels, Hydraulic Systems and Emergency Generators.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repair for Chillers, Air Dryers, Heat Pumps, Ice Machines, Cooling Towers, Boilers and Controls, Air Handling Equipment, VAV Controls and Boxes, Walk-in Coolers and Freezers, Air Conditioning Split Systems, High Volume Air Handling Systems, Pneumatic and Electronic Controls, Pneumatic Actuators, Valves and Dampers, Liebert Chilled Water Air Handling System, Vacuum Pumps, and Steam Condensate Systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repair of the smoke and fire evacuation system including dampers, fusible links, activators, and controls.
  • Assists all Building Authority departments.
  • Complies with Building Authority policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Cleans working area after assigned duties are complete.
  • Performs snow removal.
