About The Position

At Gaines Investment Trust, we take pride in offering our residents comfortable and well-maintained apartment homes. We are currently seeking a full-time Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional service to our residents. This role is based at Ventana Apartment Homes (350 units) in Scottsdale, AZ 85260.

Requirements

HVAC certification (required)
Currently resides within the Scottsdale, AZ area or a 20-minute commute.
Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic computer skills for recording and tracking maintenance activities.
Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy objects, climb stairs, and perform manual labor.
Strong work ethic
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience (1+ years) in apartment maintenance or a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks within occupied apartment units and common areas.
Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repairs.
Complete work orders promptly and efficiently, documenting all completed tasks.
Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure the safety and functionality of equipment and systems.
Assist with the turnover process for vacant units, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of pools, common areas, and grounds.
Communicate effectively with residents to address maintenance requests and provide updates.
Coordinate with property management to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with maintenance teams/vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies.
Perform other assigned tasks.
