About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic and Building Maintenance Manager to help maintain and repair essential warehouse equipment, ensuring smooth operations in our fast-paced cold storage environment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a diverse range of material handling equipment (MHE) and facility systems. This includes forklifts, pallet jacks, dock doors, turrets, aerial lifts, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general building infrastructure. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to cross-train in other maintenance disciplines to expand your skill set.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in forklift maintenance, industrial maintenance, building maintenance, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, automotive, diesel, or related trades preferred.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, plumbing, and general facility systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, operate tools and equipment safely, and perform duties in a cold storage environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Refrigeration experience is a plus!
  • OSHA, forklift certification, HVAC certification, electrical training, or related technical certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on MHE such as forklifts, pallet jacks, turrets, and aerial lifts, as well as facility systems including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general building infrastructure.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, implementing effective solutions to maintain equipment and facility operations.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on both material handling equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
  • Assist with electrical troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, carpentry, painting, and basic HVAC maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate service records, documenting repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Cross-train in additional maintenance areas, including facility systems, MHE, and refrigeration equipment, to support operational needs and career growth.
