Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or technical school.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that is acceptable according to Pioneer Resources’ Policy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize both self and others’ workloads and work with minimal supervision; high degree of self-direction.
  • Solid reasoning skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • 1 year of construction or maintenance related experience.
  • The ability to read and write English, and the ability to comprehend written instructions and record information.
  • Basic math skills to measure and calculate quantities.
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and a general knowledge of the trades.
  • The capacity to work in a team with intermittent supervision.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize Maintenance Requests.
  • Ability to be flexible in response to varying situations.
  • The ability to work respectfully and courteously with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Must show flexibility with changing job demands.
  • Individuals must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, three (3) or more years of driving experience, less than six (6) points, and no exclusionary violations on driving record.
  • Record keeping ability.

Nice To Haves

  • May also do maintenance and repairs for select, outside entities on a non-routine basis.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and performs minor/routine maintenance and repairs for all properties of Pioneer Resources.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on simple electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliances, home systems (furnace, A/C, etc.), roofing, flooring, cement, and moving items.
  • Completes maintenance requests within 24 hours whenever possible.
  • Responds immediately to emergencies.
  • Provides creative solutions to repair issues.
  • Conducts all business in accordance with Pioneer Resources policies and procedures as well as city, county, state and federal laws, i.e., OSHA, MSHDA, HUD, ADA.

  • Complies with the policies, procedures, and safety program(s) of Pioneer Resources.
  • Upholds standards of CARF and practice LEAN initiatives and principles.
  • Follows all state and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to those related to recipient rights, confidentiality, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
