About The Position

Northline Seafoods is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians for their night shift to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide variety of plant machinery, mechanical systems, and production equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced seafood processing environment. Experience with engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and production machinery is preferred. This is a temporary position anticipated to run from early November through mid-April, with the potential to extend through May based on operational needs.

Requirements

  • Willingness to assist with a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and equipment sanitation tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and navigate an industrial facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb steep ramps and stairs on the freezer barge as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally work in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
  • Ability to work in environments that may include wet or cold conditions, loud noise, dust, moving machinery, and seasonal temperature fluctuations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and production machinery is preferred.
  • TIG welding experience preferred.
  • Background in construction, general contracting, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or seafood processing facility preferred.
  • Experience working with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and production equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment and production machinery.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment in a safe and thorough manner.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and failures on the production floor.
  • Perform maintenance tasks involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Help ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to employee safety and maintenance safety practices.
  • Assist production leads and supervisors with diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operational issues.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance and production employees and share knowledge and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement projects, events, and committees.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in accordance with SQF and HACCP standards and follow all applicable food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Operate material-handling equipment, including pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and/or scissor lifts, as authorized and trained.
  • Follow standard work practices, 5S principles, maintenance GMPs, and proper parts accountability.
  • Clean and organize the work area after completing maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with equipment cleaning and sanitation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
