About The Position

This position is for a midnight technician. The candidate may be required to train on the day shift (7am-3pm) before moving to the midnight shift (11pm-7am). The role involves working in a production environment where the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made with individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

  • A Journeyman’s status in maintenance, preferably in machine repair, millwright, electrical, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to attain a lift truck license, issued internally by the Materials department.
  • Become a member of the plant emergency response team.
  • Pass all training, including internal and external Hazwoper training.
  • Be able to suit up in the appropriate equipment, and work with TDI.
  • Be able to attend training exercises, even when scheduled during off shifts and non-work hours.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic mathematical ability in order to perform accurate assessments and measurements.
  • Pass standard drivers license vision tests.
  • Pass a HAZMAT physical, including PFT test and mask fit.
  • Employee must be clean shaven in areas where mask fits to face, for sealing purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to operate basic metalworking tools to maintain and repair parts. (Including but not limited to lathes, drill presses, metal cutting saws, grinders)
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to weld.

Responsibilities

  • Read and write, and follow instructions as laid out in the general work orders assigned to this position.
  • Be trained on computer system used in the maintenance department.
  • Perform accurate assessments and measurements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Operate basic metalworking tools to maintain and repair parts (Including but not limited to lathes, drill presses, metal cutting saws, grinders).
  • Weld.
  • Lift 50 pounds on limited occasions by oneself, and 25 pounds on a steady basis.
  • Climb ladders, kneel for extended periods, balance on platforms.
  • Work overtime as scheduled; including twelve-hour shifts a minimum of three days per week, and weekend overtime.
