About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repairs of buildings. The role reports to the Chief Building Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, hands-on maintenance experience, and skills in basic electrical work, light plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, and painting, while adhering to safety regulations.

Requirements

Must pass HBM prescreen.
General experience in preventative maintenance is required, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions in English.
Excellent public relations and communication skills.
Customer service-oriented mindset.
Strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED is preferred.
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), painting, drywall, masonry and grounds maintenance.
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with co-workers, property managers, vendors, and customers.
Engage in constant movement, including standing, walking, bending, and stretching throughout shifts.
Ensure that mechanical equipment and systems are functioning properly and repaired as needed.
Create and manage work orders.
Generate and maintain purchase orders.
Execute any additional maintenance-related tasks as directed by the Hawaiian Building Maintenance supervisor or property management.
