About The Position

The Maintenance Technician assists in maintaining and repairing physical structures and equipment at animal production facility sites in Perryton, Texas. The role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and inspections to keep facility operations efficient and effective. The technician follows work orders and specifications, uses hand and power tools as well as testing and measuring instruments, and welds building equipment and fabricates some penning or gating. Availability for emergency on-call situations is required.

Requirements

• A two-year technical degree or greater, high school diploma or GED, one to three months of experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Current valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR), and ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect automated feed systems, fresh water systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning at animal production facilities.
• Use common hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine which machines and equipment require replacement, repair, or maintenance.
• Weld building equipment, including load-out chutes, and fabricate some penning or gating.
• Be available on call for emergency situations.
