About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds and minor repairs. The employee will primarily work in a residential housing shelter environment. Responsibilities will take place both indoors and outdoors, depending on the needs of the shelter and its residents. The environment may be fast-paced and require adaptability to changing situations. Victory II is a facility that provides comprehensive services and safe, anonymous housing for individuals and their children experiencing domestic violence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year custodial and/or maintenance experience
  • Good communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Clean all areas and dispose of garbage in accordance with the facility schedule
  • Provide general interior and exterior maintenance (examples: floor stripping, power washing, plaster or sheetrock repairs, painting, lightbulb changing).
  • Maintain the facility landscape and perimeter (examples: lawn mowing, shrub trimming, snow removal, debris removal).
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Accept and transport deliveries of supplies, furniture, and other program materials.
  • Assemble furniture and equipment and maintain in working condition.
  • Assist in inventory control.
  • Be available and provide back-up in emergency situations
