This role is responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of machinery. The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance tasks, including reassembling machines after repair, observing mechanical operation to detect problems, inspecting and testing damaged parts, lubricating machines, installing or replacing machine parts, and dismantling machines for repair. They will also read work orders, set up and operate machines, collaborate with other workers, manage inventory and requisition supplies, transport machine parts, collect and discard worn parts, and clean machines. Additionally, the role involves conducting regular inspections of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklifts, conveyor systems, and pallet jacks, maintaining detailed records, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, repairing or replacing faulty components, testing repaired equipment, ensuring MHE is maintained to safety standards, and performing root cause analysis for equipment failures. The technician will also coordinate with vendors and manage Purchase Orders for maintenance and repair activities, and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
