About The Position

Staff Management Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our client in Chestnut Ridge, NY. The Maintenance Technician (Facilities/HVAC) is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of facility equipment, HVAC systems, utilities, and manufacturing support systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This position supports cGMP operations while ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of facilities maintenance or HVAC experience in an industrial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of: HVAC systems, Boilers and chillers, Air compressors, Pumps and motors Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
  • Basic computer skills and CMMS experience.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Trade school, vocational training, or technical degree.
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with BMS/EMS systems.
  • Experience with purified water systems and cleanroom environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, RTUs, AHUs, exhaust systems, chillers, boilers, VAVs, pumps, and associated controls.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues related to HVAC equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain compressed air systems, purified water systems, steam generators, and utility equipment.
  • Respond to facility and environmental alarms through EMS/BMS systems.
  • Perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Support facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors performing maintenance or repair work.
  • Maintain facility equipment in a safe and operational condition.
  • Complete work orders, PMs, and maintenance documentation in CMMS.
  • Follow cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, deviations, CAPAs, and corrective actions as required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and calibration documentation.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in root cause investigations.
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Minimize downtime through proactive maintenance practices.
