Maintenance Technician - Johnston Center Residences
About The Position
Johnston Center Residences is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician who takes pride in quality work, keeping buildings running the right way and is committed to cleanliness. This is a hands-on role working at a 91-unit single occupancy community—no sitting behind a desk, no guesswork, just real maintenance work that makes a difference for residents. This role will If you’re experienced in apartment or building maintenance and want consistent hours, good benefits, and a stable employer, this is a great opportunity. This is an on-site position. You can expect to spend 70% of your time on routine cleaning and preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Hands on experience of basic building maintenance
- Take direction from the supervisor.
- Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions.
- Flexible to change work plans.
- Maintain a professional personal appearance.
- Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of one (1) year in skilled maintenance work
- Technical training in one or more building trades preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in apartments and common areas (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliances, painting, etc.)
- Respond to work orders and urgent maintenance needs in a timely, resident-focused manner
- Prepare apartments for new move-ins and turns
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Safely use tools and equipment while following OSHA and Mercy Housing safety standards
