About The Position

Conducts, maintains, assesses, and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing.

Requirements

GED/High School Diploma is required.
Associate’s degree, certificate from college, trade school or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is required.
Must possess basic math skills.
Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.

Responsibilities

Assists in troubleshooting and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including programmable logic controllers, temperature controllers, power supplies, VFD’s and test equipment.
Assists in repairs or adjustments to all machinery in manufacturing area.
Conduct occasional facility maintenance, service, and repairs in the areas of dock doors, plumbing, and carpentry.
Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
Installs, starts up, and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
Responsible for maintaining tools, spare parts, and inventories.
Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Work in a safe manner always by following company safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
