About The Position

Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to machinery to locate cause of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using appropriate tools. Repairs and replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Starts devices after repair to ensure that the machine is operating correctly. Completes preventive maintenance on all machines according to the PM Schedule. Uses all of their resources to find the parts needed for repairs and passes this information on to the purchasing person.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience repairing and servicing a variety of machinery
  • Proven self-direction, must be able to work individually or in a team to complete equipment repairs.
  • An effective listener
  • Excellent problem analysis and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Demonstrates initiative
  • Effective in stressful situations and a high paced environment
  • Must follow all IFG Safety policies and procedures
  • Must understand and follow the IFG Work Order Procedure
  • Must have understanding and be able to work in Microsoft Word and Excel systems
