Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Pivotal is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide high-quality service to residents at the Austin Legacy Residence (78 Units in Chicago, IL). This full-time role involves routine maintenance of the property's physical integrity, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment. The technician will be responsible for daily grounds pickup, responding to resident work orders, and serving as the primary contact for emergency situations. The company is embracing technology, with HVAC technicians using a Maintenance Mobile app for work orders, and a stipend is provided for smartphone use.
Requirements
- 1+ years of related experience
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Commitment to regular attendance (may include weekend and OT hours)
- Ability to be “on-call” for emergencies
- Ability to receive, manage, and close work orders by using smartphone applications
Nice To Haves
- HVAC training and certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service to all current and future residents
- Complete resident work orders on a timely basis (24 to 48-hour expectation)
- Broad knowledge of general maintenance: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Assist with court-ordered “set-outs” when necessary
- Perform unit turnover between residents per company standards (3-5 days)
- Maintain grounds and curb appeal
- Be responsive to on-call emergencies
