About The Position

OrePac is seeking a dynamic and motivated Maintenance Technician responsible for the daily maintenance of equipment, building and grounds, and mobile equipment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, prioritizes safety, and is committed to ensuring all equipment is in safe operating condition to meet customer needs. This role involves conducting preventative maintenance, adhering to OSHA guidelines, managing asset maintenance, and providing recommendations for equipment upgrades. The technician will also assist the Operations Manager with maintenance tracking software, data collection, and new equipment installation, while supporting continuous improvement processes and conducting safety audits.

Requirements

  • Certification or degree from an accredited trade school or three or more years of related experience performing maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move/manipulate up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals, drawings/plans, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions; ability to troubleshoot equipment electrical systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports, track maintenance metrics as required, and communicate effectively with peers, superiors, vendors, and other individuals/groups both inside and outside the company
  • Knowledge of PLC’s, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Skilled at safely and properly using a broad range of power and hand tools
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and planning skills
  • Able to effectively prioritize competing tasks and resources
  • Strong basic math skills, including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, calculating percentages, common fractions, and decimals

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with maintenance scheduling and tracking software
  • OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 class certification

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all equipment is in safe operating condition and available for production.
  • Conduct all timely PM (preventative maintenance/predictive maintenance) tasks, including logging and documenting associated activities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working safely and following OSHA guidelines (Lock Out Tag Out, forklift operation, machine guarding, etc.).
  • Maintain building and grounds in a safe and clean condition.
  • Manage mobile and material handling asset maintenance/repair (forklifts, combi lifts, standup lifts, pallet jacks, etc.) through vendors or other appropriate means.
  • Provide CapEx and ongoing recommendations for equipment upgrades, replacement, and/or modifications.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager and/or GM on various contract renewals.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with accurate, timely, and effective use of company provided maintenance tracking software.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with collection of data related to equipment downtime, causes, repair costs, spare parts lists, etc.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with installation of new equipment in coordination with corporate resources and external vendors.
  • Support CI/Op-Ex processes, improvements, and other related functions as needed.
  • Proactively conduct equipment inspections and safety audits per branch policy and/or as outlined in company best practices.
  • Participate in all JHA/JSA reviews, revisions, and improvements.
