About The Position
A well-established residential property management organization is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician for an apartment community in Columbus, Ohio. The Maintenance Technician will help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment by completing preventive maintenance, responding to service requests, troubleshooting equipment, and performing general repairs. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- At least one to two years of residential, multifamily, or apartment maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting, time-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond appropriately to urgent maintenance needs.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to participate in the required on-call schedule.
Nice To Haves
- HVAC, OSHA, or other relevant certifications are preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
- Diagnose and complete maintenance repairs accurately and promptly.
- Respond professionally to resident service requests and maintenance emergencies.
- Maintain interior and exterior common areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper appearance.
- Complete minor carpentry, painting, drywall, appliance, and general building repairs.
- Assist with apartment turnovers, inspections, and property improvement projects.
- Support or mentor other maintenance team members when applicable.
- Monitor supplies and equipment and assist with inventory management.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and reports.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, building codes, and company policies.
