About The Position
Sunset Farm Foods, Inc. is a fourth-generation, family-owned meat processing and sausage company in Valdosta, Georgia, in business since 1918. We're growing our Maintenance team and looking for hands-on, dependable technicians who can keep our equipment running and our plant safe. Electrical and ammonia refrigeration experience is a big plus!
Requirements
- 3+ years of industrial mechanic experience (food industry a plus).
- Hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and conveyors.
- Familiarity with 3-phase/120V systems and PLC troubleshooting.
- Comfortable reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Own hand tools, and skilled with power tools and multi-meters.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Electrical and/or ammonia refrigeration experience is a big plus!
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
- Inspect compressors, electrical connections, and motor operations.
- Test and repair equipment using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing tools.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and complete daily/weekly/monthly checklists.
- Work safely and follow all plant policies and regulations.
