Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic/technician in a corporate setting.
Operates hand tools, power tools, equipment and electrical testing equipment requiring manual dexterity.
Ability to understand oral and written instructions, schematic drawings and layouts.
Ability to work alternative/shift work schedules including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime hours.
Working knowledge of computer maintenance management software.

Nice To Haves

General knowledge of hospital operations.

Responsibilities

Performs general repairs and trouble-shooting in assigned areas, taking initiative to locate, document, and repair unreported equipment/building discrepancies.
Performs daily preventive maintenance inspections/repairs in assigned areas, including all task-related documentation.
Performs electrical safety checks in patient rooms.
Performs repairs/safety checks on non-patient equipment.
Investigates maintenance requests, demonstrating effective judgment and decision-making skills before seeking referral to other crafts.
Ensures all work done by other crafts is completed in assigned areas, taking ownership by monitoring others to assure completeness of repairs.
Enters supply rooms on nursing units as needed to perform job functions, refraining from manipulating or removing any intravenous fluids stored in the area.
Demonstrates dependability by working with other employees to accomplish tasks and ensuring open communication for successful task completion.
Maintains strong knowledge of life safety, patient safety, and infection prevention measures pertaining to craft trades.
Inspects fire/smoke rated doors and wall partitions for compliance with NFPA standards.
Conducts routine environmental and safety rounds.
