About The Position

Enrich the lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Maintenance Technician role. The Maintenance Technician will perform basic to intermediate maintenance services within a retirement community. Maintenance services span resident work orders, unit refurbishment, and a preventative maintenance program. You will also be responsible for facilities upkeep, ordering and organizing inventory, and utilizing an electronic maintenance system to retrieve, enter and update maintenance services performed. Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one-year prior experience performing maintenance and facilities repair in a residential setting.
  • Must complete all required safety training in accordance with OSHA standards and company policy, including but not limited to hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment (PPE) within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
  • Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to scheduled work hours.
  • A desire to engage with seniors to help them live their best years.
  • Ability to provide a service-oriented approach to your work.
  • Willingness to perform work that can be physically demanding.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English verbal and written communication to effectively complete work orders, maintain records, and interpret written instructions and procedures.
  • Displays a personable and comforting personality to care for the residents.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10- hour course certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance throughout the campus.
  • Complete work orders for residents.
  • Refurbish units for new occupants (painting, equipment installation and replacement, cleaning, and quality assurance).
  • May assist with resident move-in, move-out process.
  • Maintain facilities and grounds for visual appeal, safety, and resident satisfaction.
  • Perform safety checks and basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery services on campus.
  • Assist with set-up and cleanup of special events.
  • Apply Lean methodology to shop upkeep and inventory practices.
  • Conduct emergency drills and respond to actual emergencies and alarms.
  • Learn and apply Company, Federal, State, and local rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.
