This role is for a Maintenance Technician on a rotating night shift schedule (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM).

Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field or 3-5 years' experience
  • Must understand and be able to use complicated test equipment for diagnosis of hard-to-find problems with electrical circuits and equipment
  • Ability to read and understand PLC logic and electrical diagrams or schematics
  • Ability to locate, read, and comprehend equipment manuals and use the troubleshooting guide in manuals to resolve problems
  • Willing and able to use a computer daily
  • Familiar with different types of hand tools and be able to operate different types of power tools and lift equipment
  • Possess basic mechanical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Mechanically inclined to determine how a piece of equipment functions
  • Required to be trained on and able to operate forklifts, man lifts, production equipment and power tools
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Able to handle critical decision-making responsibilities and deal with mental stress from occasional extended worked hours outside of regularly scheduled shift

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre’s safety-first culture by strictly following all safety protocols and participating in required safety programs.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate all mechanical and electrical equipment across Lesaffre’s Red Star campus, including motors, motor control centers, control panels, VFD units, HVAC systems, lighting, transformers, and capacitor bank systems.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate plant instruments such as pH probes, flow meters, pressure/level transmitters, and temperature probes.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, blowers, separators, automated packaging equipment, piping systems, valves, and fittings.
  • Perform daily rounds to check critical equipment for proper operation.
  • Complete weekly preventive maintenance (PM) tasks as scheduled, documenting work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using PLC interface software and other diagnostic tools.
  • Assist with electrical upgrades, equipment modifications, and control panel construction.
  • Run conduit, pull conductors, and support equipment installation projects.
  • Assist other technicians with inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Document all maintenance work in CMMS (MAPCON) and communicate progress via MS Outlook.
  • Fill out PM report sheets and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
