About The Position

EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Bethesda, MD (2:00pm – 10:30pm Tuesday thru Saturday). The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR 2nd shift Lead and support them to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Primary responsibilities of this position is to be responsible for the general maintenance needs at the facility and performing general maintenance of equipment as required. Knowledge of and capable of performing maintenance/repairs and various general tasks assigned. Qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess a professional appearance, excellent customer service and communication skills.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma
  • 3 – 5 years of experience related to facility maintenance.
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
  • Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to repair walls, floors, doors and any painting and touch up work for beautification of facility.
  • Must maintain a strict PM schedule.
  • Must have the ability to maintain A/C and Heating equipment, change filters and clean coils as needed.
  • Must have ability to repair and unclog toilets, urinals, replace and maintain valve assemblies and repair/maintain sensors for automatic flush kits, as well as all other plumbing related to the Facility.
  • Must perform monitoring and adjustments of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range.
  • Monitor for alarm conditions, respond and communicate concerns promptly to leadership.
  • The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required.
  • Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitively during shift.
  • Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis.
  • Have the ability to work and maneuver on a variety of terrains.
  • Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • Must be willing to work holidays and weekends when scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with the Site Lead to determine service needs.
  • Coordinates and supervise client sub-contractors while performing service on site.
  • Repairs of Walls, Floors, Doors and any painting and Touch up work for beautification of facility.
  • Repair and unclog toilets, urinals, replace and maintain valve assemblies and repair/maintain sensors for automatic flush kits, as well as all other plumbing related to the facility.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of air handling equipment at this facility such as vent fans and circulation fans.
  • Maintain a strict PM schedule.
  • Maintain A/C and Heating equipment, change filters and clean coils as needed.
  • Ensure building temperature conditions are within specifications.
  • Performs a wide variety of corrective maintenance work requests.
  • Conducts daily rounds and inspection of specified areas and equipment.
  • Assist other skilled employees to perform projects as requested.
  • Perform monitoring of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range.
  • Promptly communicate operational concerns with leadership until resolved.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of ALL facility aspects including ceilings, floor, doors, walls, plumbing systems, minor electrical, lighting, parking garages, mechanical rooms, hot water systems, building exterior/grounds, etc.
  • Must maintain a strict PM schedule.
  • Must have the ability to maintain A/C and Heating equipment, change filters and clean coils as needed.
  • Must have ability to repair and unclog toilets, urinals, replace and maintain valve assemblies and repair/maintain sensors for automatic flush kits, as well as all other plumbing related to the Facility.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of air handling equipment at this facility such as vent fans and circulation fans.
  • Organization skills to maintain the client facility maintenance records and reports.
  • Must perform monitoring and adjustments of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range.
  • Monitor for alarm conditions, respond and communicate concerns promptly to leadership.
