About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting work on equipment systems. This role involves working with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, as well as assisting with electrical components. The technician will also be involved in fabrication, assembly, welding, cutting, grinding, and installation of machinery. A key aspect of this role is performing preventative maintenance and work orders, adhering to safety procedures like Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO), and proper parts handling. The position requires effective communication with operators and set-up personnel, supporting documentation activities, performing 5s activities, and ensuring total quality of products and services. The technician is authorized to stop work when a nonconformance is noted and must perform assigned quality system functions. Observing established EHS regulations, procedures, and practices is also essential. This is a 2nd shift position, working from 2 PM to 10 PM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1-3 Years experience in industrial machine controls troubleshooting Allen Bradley Controls.
  • 2 years mechanical maintenance or similar skills base.
  • Use of hand tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Must work effectively in a team.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to perform excessive walking, standing, bending, climbing, reaching, grasping, and lifting.
  • Ability to visually inspect parts and use of hands to use measuring gauges.
  • Ability to run machines and equipment safely and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of completion from a vocational training center for machine controls or a 2 year degree from a trade school in industrial electrical controls is preferred.
  • Experience with Siemens Controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting work.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment systems with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
  • Assist in the disassembly and assembly of electrical components.
  • Fabrications of welded structures, machines, and spare parts with processing machines.
  • Assembly of jigs and machines according to drawings, sketches, samples, or instructions.
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding etc. to repair and modify machinery.
  • Performs installations and aligns new machinery.
  • Repairs existing presses, gear boxes and facility as needed.
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) and work orders as directed.
  • Uses proper Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) and other safety procedures.
  • Uses proper procedure when pulling parts form stores.
  • Instruct and communicate in a positive manner with operators and set-up personnel.
  • Support the proper documentation activities.
  • Perform 5s activities.
  • Responsible for total quality of products and services and authorized to stop work when a nonconformance is noted.
  • Perform assigned quality system functions as specified in QMS procedures.
  • Perform other responsibilities as determined by the supervisor.
  • Observe established EHS regulations, procedures, and practices.
