About The Position

This is a full-time position for a 1st Shift Production Technician at a union manufacturing plant that produces corrugated and rigid box packaging and displays. The role involves general maintenance work in the facility, including basic plumbing, electrical, and general repairs. A key responsibility is adjusting, repairing, and maintaining corrugated and folding carton equipment, which includes performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance, basic and complex repairs, and installation of new equipment and current plant systems. The technician will also troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns related to mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, programmable logic controllers, human machine interface, data links, electricity, and electronics.

Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time hours, with overtime when required.
  • Excellent to advanced mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, electronics, and building maintenance skills and knowledge.
  • Working knowledge to excellent skill level in programmable logic controllers, human machine interface, data links, and production/shipping machinery and equipment.
  • Very strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Must be able to perform frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk short distances most of the shift.
  • Must be able to perform frequent bending, stretching, squatting, reaching, climbing, pushing, & pulling for various tasks.
  • Good attendance and work ethic required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in corrugated or folding carton maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance work in the facility such as basic plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
  • Adjust, repair, and maintain corrugated and folding carton equipment in the production plant.
  • Perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Conduct basic and complex repairs on equipment.
  • Install new corrugated and rigid box equipment, as well as current plant systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns including mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, programmable logic controllers, human machine interface, data links, electricity, and electronics.
  • Be flexible with job duties assigned, as tasks can change multiple times per day.
