About The Position

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on various equipment and facilities at the Cardinal LG, Amery location. This role is also responsible for new equipment installation/tear-downs, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and finding ways to improve processes, PM’s, and equipment. Partners with production staff to ensure that production is being serviced properly and in a timely manner to minimize downtime. All Technicians must wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, PPE must be adorn if/when handling glass as prescribed by the department where the task is taking place. Additional clothing and/or PPE may be required depending upon the job task being completed (i.e. welding). Full work attire is provided for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing capacity
  • Ability to interpret schematics
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Plumbing knowledge
  • Welding and/or machining experience
  • Associates degree/technical degree in industrial maintenance or similar
  • PLC knowledge
  • Experience with programming/installing frequency drives
  • HVAC experience
  • Certified Electrician

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on various equipment.
  • Respond to calls in a timely manner while simultaneously prioritizing most important to least important.
  • Work on projects with fellow technicians and individually, as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager.
  • Use the ‘Maintenance Support’ website to complete the work orders posted/assigned.
  • Seek ways to improve processes, PMs, and equipment.
  • Clean tools and work area after completing tasks.
  • Help maintain parts inventory by partnering and communicating with the Maintenance Purchaser to let them know when parts inventory is low or depleted.
  • Partner with Production Managers, Production Supervisors, and other Team Members to schedule work being performed on equipment, with minimal down-time.
  • Assist with new equipment installation/tear-downs.
  • Troubleshoot machinery.
  • Perform facilities maintenance in office areas, bathrooms, and common areas, as needed.
  • Works with outside contractors as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocol and partner with safety personnel to ensure that all machinery is properly guarded and lock out tag out procedures are followed.
  • Dispose of oils, lubricants, grease, and cleaning agents according to safety and environmental standards.
  • Accept more challenging assignments as experience and knowledge allows.
  • Train others to help them gain knowledge in your strength areas as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
