About The Position

Georgia-Pacific facility located in Camden, NJ is seeking motivated and safety-oriented individuals to join our Maintenance team. This role involves ensuring timely completion of all maintenance tasks, minimizing equipment downtime, and driving a safety-focused culture. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading equipment, performing periodic maintenance routines, maintaining accurate maintenance logs, and collaborating with the operations team to troubleshoot mechanical problems.

Requirements

  • One (1) or more years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, military or agricultural environment OR a combination of relevant experience and a maintenance technical degree
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of experience working in a mechanical maintenance position within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing company with a focus on mechanical and reliability maintenance
  • Experience with preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance
  • Experience using precision maintenance tools such as laser alignment tools
  • Experience with the cutting-edge technologies (ultrasonic, vibration, infrared)
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a highly functioning team to ensure timely completion of all maintenance tasks and minimize equipment down time
  • Driving a safety-focused culture by regularly engaging in and encouraging safety participation amongst the crew
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining (predictive and preventive) and upgrading equipment
  • Using precision alignment to install and align new equipment
  • Performing periodic maintenance routines including lubricating machine tools and equipment for improved reliability and uptime
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance logs; including labor hours and critical preventative maintenance findings
  • Identify and prioritize maintenance needs
  • Working with an invested operations team to troubleshoot mechanical problems to help meet or exceed production and quality goals
  • Installing and repairing mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings
  • Reading mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day, in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment
  • Work in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment that may be hot, humid, cold and noisy
