About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems, equipment, and facilities. The position supports safe and efficient property operations by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance issues. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The role is located at Westfield South Center and is listed as a day shift, with pay of $33 per hour and weekly pay.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of similar work experience.
• Proficiency in changing ballasts and light bulbs.
• Skill in patching, sanding, and painting.
• Familiarity with hand tools and general maintenance tasks.
• Comfort working in a mall environment and walking throughout the facility.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain restroom and breakroom plumbing fixtures.
• Clear drains using a plunger and hand-held auger.
• Carry, stack, and organize materials used at and around the job site.
• Remove debris and trash that are outside the janitorial contract or scope of work.
• Repair and clean HVAC registers, radiators, and return grills.
• Perform minor furniture repairs.
• Maintain or replace door hardware.
• Repair or replace venetian blinds.
• Perform maintenance painting in mechanical and electrical rooms.
• Touch up painting in building common areas and, when authorized by property management, tenant spaces.
• Clean mechanical spaces and engineering shop areas.
• Clean exterior entry spaces using vacuum, mop, broom, steam cleaner, high-pressure sprayer, or other cleaning devices or equipment.
• Clean and paint non-operating mechanical equipment after it has been shut down, locked out, and tagged by a Journeyman Engineer under ABM’s Lockout / Tagout Program.
• Perform miscellaneous handyman work requiring limited use of hand tools.
• Clean roof drains, air vents, registers, and radiators.
• Replace lamps and clean light fixtures.
• Replace ballasts in accordance with ABM Lockout / Tagout policies.
• Replace ceiling tiles and floor tiles.
• Replace air filters and fire extinguishers.
• Hang framed objects without using power tools other than cordless drill/drivers.
