About The Position

This is an hourly position with hours from Monday-Friday, 6am – 2:30pm, with possible overtime. We have an opening for a Maintenance position at our Effingham, IL production facility. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing plant mechanical equipment and electrical systems. The role also involves performing assigned preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, and purchasing of parts and supplies. A thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment, and operations is necessary for diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions. The technician will perform preventive maintenance duties on equipment as required and maintain an expert knowledge of equipment, operations, and processes throughout the plant. Installation of new equipment, making electrical connections, and aligning equipment for production use are also key responsibilities. Developing knowledge of maintenance files, parts, and vendors, and accessing information on the department computer is required. Performing welding duties in repairing production equipment and documenting time spent and parts used on projects by completing time records through the RCI system are also part of the role. Conducting regular inspections of production equipment and performing daily preventive maintenance duties on plant equipment, as well as maintaining maintenance records of work performed and providing them to a designated location, are essential. The role also includes promoting the ADM Way and Core Values.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior work experience in maintenance, vocational or technical training in a mechanical field or equivalent industrial work experience
Basic knowledge of process equipment
Forklift driving
Basic computer skills
Able to climb stairs
Able to perform some lifting
Able to sit and stand for long periods
Able to work in confined spaces
Able to work with heights
Able to bend, kneel and squat
Able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, such as hot and cold temperatures and a dust environment
Successful completion of a background check

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing plant mechanical equipment and electrical systems
Responsible for any assigned preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, and purchasing of parts and supplies
Maintaining a thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the interest of diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions.
Performing preventive maintenance duties on equipment as required and maintains an expert knowledge of equipment, operations and processes throughout the plant.
Installing new equipment as required, making electrical connections and aligning equipment for production use as required.
Developing knowledge of maintenance files, parts and vendors, and accesses information on the department computer as required.
Performing welding duties as required in repairing production equipment.
Documenting time spent and parts used on projects by completing time records through use of the RCI system.
