About The Position

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who will join our Scotts Miracle Gro team in Geismar, LA! This role involves troubleshooting and performing repairs and maintenance on various equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems. The technician will be responsible for repairing production line equipment such as conveyor belts, packaging equipment, grinding equipment, and stacking equipment. Additionally, the role may include assisting with or performing machinery and equipment installation, cutting and welding, light steel fabrication, inspecting and adjusting equipment, and diagnosing malfunctions. Maintenance duties or other assigned tasks will also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

• Prior relevant maintenance experience.
• Ability for prolonged and repetitive motions of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead and arms/hands dexterity.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Teachable attitude and ability to learn on the job in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to read numbers, product descriptions, and maintain written records.
• Ability to push button, monitor controls, and perform basic math functions.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities
