This position reports to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for all maintenance, repair, and modifications needed to maintain the company’s equipment and support systems in the process of raw and finished goods. The role involves setting up equipment and working with production departments to ensure production and efficiencies are met daily. The mechanic is responsible to ensure equipment runs properly on any lines and for the training, repair, removal, and installation of machines and equipment, as needed by production. The Production Maintenance Mechanic installs, sets up, and maintains production equipment to support efficient operations, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical issues on production lines and support equipment, and operates and maintains power and hand tools safely. They test and replace electrical components, read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams, collaborate with peers to resolve production issues, and assist with equipment upgrades and modifications. Advanced roles may include basic welding, wiring of circuits up to 480V, and leading/training junior technicians. The role requires working safely with chemicals and wearing appropriate PPE, supporting continuous improvement by maintaining detailed records, and participating in ongoing training.
