The Maintenance Technician performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment. This role involves primary responsibility for proficiency in several trades, with working conditions and the degree of supervision varying according to the location and nature of assignments. The technician must be knowledgeable of all safety requirements, departmental and plant-wide, and maintain departmental 5-S for assigned areas and equipment. They will be responsible for completing required departmental paperwork and possess general knowledge of computer software and the maintenance work order system. Key duties include performing major overhauls of mechanical and electrical equipment, repairing all production and non-production equipment, and calibrating electrical controls for various equipment such as Hot Runners, Thermolators, and Barrel Heaters. The role also involves the setup and operation of all production equipment and ensuring all utilities (Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, Dryers, and Oxidizers) are operational for production startup. Additionally, the technician will train other technicians on proper repair procedures, generate paperwork for parts orders, perform Group Leader functions in their absence, and install and repair electrical utilities. Experience with technical equipment like Robots and PC Control, including troubleshooting with PC Interface devices, is required. The technician will also support the implementation and maintenance of Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
