About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, installation, repair, fabrication, and preventative maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment and Hydromat Rotary Transfer Machines. This role requires the ability to be on your feet all day and lift up to 50 lbs. The position is 80% machine repair and maintenance and 20% building repair and maintenance. The technician will maintain a clean and safe work environment in all production process areas and support production by assisting in secondary processes as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to repair used components to new O.E.M. standards, including hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Ability to operate manual toolroom machines such as bandsaws, drill presses, vertical milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools.
  • Possess electrical skills for installing and troubleshooting various systems.
  • Current experience with MIG/TIG welding, forklifts, cranes, and lift trucks.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematic drawings.
  • Ability to perform metal fabrication tasks as needed, including cutting, welding, and finishing.
  • Ability to perform plumbing, pneumatic, and millwright duties as required.
  • Understanding of AC and DC motors, VFD/VSD drives.
  • Ability to safely troubleshoot circuits of various voltages (110/120, 220, 480).
  • Ability to read and understand ladder logic for troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Familiarity with spare parts inventory control systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to minimize process interruptions.
  • Ability to work well with others is essential.

  • Knowledge of machine control interface on the Hydromat machine.
  • Proficient in AutoDesk 2D & 3D Software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
  • ERP system knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC equipment setup highly preferred to support equipment repair.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc robotics is a significant plus.
  • Associate degree (AA) in Industrial Electronics Technology or Precision Machining preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and practices preferred.
  • Ability to counsel and motivate workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, install, repair, fabricate, and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and Hydromat Rotary Transfer Machines.
  • Read blueprints (detail and assembly) and repair used components to new O.E.M. standards, including hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Operate manual toolroom machines such as bandsaws, drill presses, vertical milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address causes of mechanical downtime.
  • Perform electrical installations and troubleshooting.
  • Perform MIG/TIG welding, operate forklifts, cranes, and lift trucks.
  • Perform metal fabrication tasks including cutting, welding, and finishing.
  • Perform plumbing, pneumatic, and millwright duties.
  • Troubleshoot circuits of various voltages (110/120, 220, 480).
  • Evaluate equipment condition and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in production processes and document actions/results.
  • Train operators and others in the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Read and understand ladder logic for troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Operate mobile equipment including forklifts, manlifts, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to minimize process interruptions.
  • Assist mechanics and operators as needed in a multi-task environment.
  • Make informed decisions regarding equipment repairs and work independently.
