About The Position

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for all maintenance, repair, and modifications needed to maintain the company’s equipment and support systems in the process of raw and finished goods. The role involves setting up equipment and working with production departments to ensure daily production and efficiency targets are met. The Mechanic is responsible for ensuring equipment runs properly on all lines and for the training, repair, removal, and installation of machines and equipment as needed by production.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in production maintenance or similar.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to learn new systems and tools.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced knowledge of systems and tools preferred for senior roles.
• Leadership and project management skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, and maintain production equipment to support efficient operations (from basic setup to advanced troubleshooting, depending on experience).
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production lines and support equipment.
• Operate and maintain power and hand tools safely for repair and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Test and replace electrical components such as fuses, cords, and plugs, using meters and probes.
• Read and interpret measurements, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to perform setups, repairs, or upgrades.
• Collaborate with peers and support teams to resolve production issues and keep lines running smoothly.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and part fabrication (advanced roles), including basic welding and wiring of circuits up to 480V.
• Lead, train, and direct junior technicians (advanced roles) to ensure task completion and knowledge sharing.
• Work safely with chemicals and wear appropriate PPE such as respirators, when required.
• Support continuous improvement by maintaining detailed records and participating in ongoing training.
