About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician with industry experience to join their team. This role involves general maintenance and repairs of building equipment, property structures, and grounds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with safety regulations and will contribute to creating and maintaining safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environments.

Requirements

  • Must pass a background check.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
  • Previous hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
  • Proficiency in EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to access compact areas that measure 18 inches by 18 inches.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • General maintenance experience.
  • Previous experience in creating and maintaining work orders and purchase orders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including: Basic plumbing, electrical work, mechanical systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), painting/drywall and grounds maintenance
  • Ensure that mechanical equipment and systems are functioning properly and perform repairs as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with property managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Engage in constant movement, including standing, walking, bending, and stretching throughout shifts.
  • Lift, push, and pull weights ranging from 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Walk and stand for extended periods and bend frequently during the shift.
  • Create and maintain work orders.
  • Create and maintain purchase orders.
  • Complete any additional maintenance-related tasks as assigned by the HBM supervisor or property management.
