About The Position

American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Maintenance Technician for our Tiffin, OH facility. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager. The schedule is a 2/2/3 pattern, consisting of four 12-hour shifts, providing a 3-day weekend every other week. This results in only 14 working days per month.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Eligible to work in the United States of America.
Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Authorize Background Check.
Must be able to work a 12-Hour Shift.
Prior Maintenance Technician experience required.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Knowledge of basic math skills.
Must demonstrate good judgment and decision-making ability.
Must possess interpersonal skills and be able to communicate on all levels.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Basic ability in welding; brazing; soldering, or silver brazing; refrigeration repair; machine shop training; fabrication in plastic; electronic repair; and/or mechanical engine repair, transmission repair, robotics.

Nice To Haves

Injection molding experience is a plus.
Forklift license, Man lift certificate, and crane operation are a plus (will train to specifics).

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and read electrical prints.
Troubleshoot and debug hydraulic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
Troubleshoot and debug pneumatic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, debugging, and repair on injection-molding machines.
Execute lock out/tag out procedures on all Injection and related equipment.
Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to prevent avoidable downtime through preventative, predictive, or continuous improvement ideas.
Work with equipment suppliers to determine root cause of equipment failures and implement permanent solutions.
Maintain Plant Facility and associated equipment.
Perform daily checks of all injection molding equipment as outlined on the preventive maintenance schedule.
Own and maintain the required basic set of tools needed to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
