Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • 3+ years overall professional experience in technical/production environment.
  • 3+ years in a similar (maintenance) role within a chemical or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Repair experience with gear drives, rigging, bearings, pumps, motors, instrumentation, electrical equipment and components and repair of complex equipment and systems.
  • Maintenance experience in a chemical or other industrial setting.
  • Capability to maintain, inspect, align, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment and systems.
  • Experience with bolted flange torquing procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical troubleshooting techniques and safe work practices.
  • Able to read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Thorough understanding of P&ID’s.
  • Strong multi-tasking competency.
  • Must be able to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment mechanical equipment and vibration, wet and or humid weather conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Exposure to occasionally loud noise levels.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb high ladders, walk out on platforms up to 40 meters, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl, lift and or move more than 60 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, color, distance, and depth perception.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent unrestricted basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Industrial Electrical or Mechanical Technology or related field or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation, pressure, temperature, flow, etc is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute ITPMs, and repairs assets primarily within the area of Conversion, HCl-Recovery, Distillation, and Tank Farm at the Charleston Wacker site.
  • Responsible for the long-term operation, reliability, maintenance and upkeep of equipment and production units.
  • Assure availability of operational spare parts, providing predictive, preventive, and emergency maintenance services to provide the highest uptime of equipment and assure the availability of safe and regulatory compliant equipment.
  • Perform predictive, preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on DISCO systems, including mechanical and electrical equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation, switchgear, and control components.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair mechanical and electrical plant equipment, including pumps, valves, motors, actuators, transmitters, and associated control and power systems.
  • Conduct routine troubleshooting across mechanical and electrical systems to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Provide start‑up, commissioning, and operational support to DISCO Operations, ensuring mechanical integrity, electrical functionality, and safe system performance.
  • Complete inspection reports and other required documents in a professional, accurate manner and submit in a timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Review job with Manager, discussing repair issues and customer feedback received during the inspection review.
  • Incorporate safe behavior into all activities and consistently comply with all established safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
  • Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering & Maintenance department, Operations, and other service units.
  • Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance with WACKER'S policies and procedures.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
