About The Position

Cerro Wire LLC, a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking a multi-craft maintenance technician responsible for maintaining the plant in a safe and reliable condition. This is an on-site position in Hartselle, AL, with multiple shifts available, including nights. The company fosters a culture of empowerment, learning, and making a positive impact.

Requirements

3 Years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or 5-7 years in industrial maintenance as a multi-skill technician.
Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, power transmission, and robotics.
Ability to read and understand ladder logic, electrical, and mechanical diagrams.
Must be willing to work night shift.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work at heights on occasion.
Ability to work in cold, heat, noise, dust, fumes, paint, chemicals, oils, etc.

Nice To Haves

2 Years of post-secondary schooling in an industrial maintenance related field, Associates Degree Preferred.
PLC experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the plant.
Responding to all unplanned downtime or breakdowns on machines.
Planning and executing maintenance activities for non-routine problems or issues.
Troubleshooting equipment and system problems for manufacturing and facility equipment, both routine and complex, using a method of troubleshooting to get to a root cause.
Designing, fabricating, and installing mechanical and electronic equipment and performing program changes.
Welding stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum, fabricating guards, etc., as required.
Being engaged in safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Leading and assisting in the planning, coordination, and performance of shutdown and major maintenance activities.
Completing all training as required and performing OJT to other employees as required.
Working with minimal supervision.
Performing housekeeping of shop and areas where maintenance activities were performed.
Machining parts on a lathe or mill for replacement of repair or worn parts.
Wiring and repairing electric motors, repairing basic wiring according to NEC.
Maintaining and troubleshooting problems with AC drive systems and PLCs.
Accessing and interpreting PLC logic via a laptop computer or other using the appropriate communication language.
Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant equipment, to include lubrication, repairs, adjustments, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
Advising operators and others of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
Installing, starting up, and shutting down equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
Performing lockouts or tag outs as required.
Performing additional duties as assigned.
