This role involves performing routine maintenance, janitorial duties, and repair of buildings and grounds. The position requires reporting needs for major repairs, following standards regarding safety, licensing, regulatory and agency requirements, and implementing and managing a preventive maintenance program. The technician will also assist in resident apartment or room turnover preparations and perform on-call service as scheduled, responding promptly to emergencies. The role requires demonstrating professional, positive behavior and carrying out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individuals in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner. Documentation of work orders and other reporting functions in compliance with LSSI and/or funding source requirements is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency REQUIRED.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade or technical school training preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic electrical, plumbing, ground maintenance and snow removal experience preferred.
  • HUD, OSHA, REAC, and ECT or related training preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Good organization and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
