About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Partners cross-functionally to support production, drive continuous improvement, and deliver high-quality service aligned with Agilent’s core values. The Folsom manufacturing location site supports the manufacture of Agilent products that enable customers to deliver trusted scientific and diagnostic outcomes.

Requirements

  • Requires higher education or specialized training/certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years related experience and/or training in a maintenance/engineering environment supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Ability and willingness to handle gas cylinders, chemicals and solvents.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including verbal and written communication, with vendors, internal customers, and employees.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, local safety guidelines, and lock-out tag-out.
  • Desire to work overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year Technical Degree or technical training.
  • Experience in a chemistry and/or biochemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, high vacuum systems, laser systems, industrial control systems (PLC’s), machining and fabrication equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and on-demand maintenance on multi-disciplinary manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
  • Install, qualify, and support enhancements or modifications to manufacturing machinery and processes.
  • Independently manage workload, prioritizing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Quality) to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Communicate clearly on maintenance status, repair progress, and work order updates.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of all maintenance activities in the maintenance management system.
  • Apply strong attention to detail and professionalism in all repair and service activities.
  • Uphold a customer-first mindset and contribute to a positive, team-based work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety standards including OSHA regulations, local requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
