About The Position

Cottonwood Residential is hiring a Part-Time Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at 5 Row Apartments in Charlottesville, VA. This role requires weekend and on-call rotation availability. The ideal candidate will be able to perform repairs including plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry. We are looking for someone who can contribute to redefining the customer experience and create an unforgettable experience for residents.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate with customers, process Company paperwork, and interpret safety and operating manuals and procedures.
• Must be able to move, carry, reposition, or lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and ability to navigate elevation changes while maintaining balance.
• Frequent need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, push/pull, and ability to navigate difficult terrain and access small areas.
• Ability to work standard community hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work as an on-call technician and provide after-hours emergency service with the support of the Service Manager while following Company standards.
• EPA certification Type II or Universal is required.
• Considerable experience troubleshooting HVAC.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Nice To Haves

• CPO certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs that may include, but are not limited to, plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry work related to household, building, and property grounds repairs.
• Troubleshoot HVAC systems.
• Provide after-hours emergency service as an on-call technician with the support of the Service Manager.
