About The Position

AIR Communities is hiring an onsite Maintenance Technician at Highlands Grand Terrace, an apartment community in Grand Terrace, California. The technician uses technology and AIR’s maintenance processes to help residents efficiently, prepare apartments for new move-ins, complete service requests, and perform routine maintenance. Responsibilities may vary according to the employee’s skillset and the community’s needs, mechanical systems, and season.

Requirements

At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a facilities or building environment.
Proficient skills in at least two technical trades, such as plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, or carpentry.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks depending on community needs and seasonality, and on-call shifts at least one week per month.
Reliable transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on call after hours.
Ability and willingness to move heavy equipment and machinery.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
Follow AIR’s process for basic apartment turns to prepare apartments for new residents.
With general direction, complete resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing or replacing plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances.
May provide functional or technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support their technical development.
May assist with managing vendor quality.
May perform move-in and move-out inspections.
