About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance tasks to ensure the facility is in good condition. This includes drywall repair, painting, structural repairs, preventative maintenance, and groundskeeping. The role also involves observing and reporting on the condition of the facility, performing regular inspections, and ensuring safety and emergency procedures are followed. The technician will also be responsible for activating/deactivating building alarms and responding to alarm calls, attending meetings and training, and maintaining effective working relationships.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Six months of experience with general maintenance.
  • Ability to efficiently use various power and hand tools.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral forms.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Must be available for weekends and on-call work.
  • Must possess or obtain a valid CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be Certified in facility-approved verbal de-escalation and physical crisis management techniques within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Drywall installation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform drywall installation and repair, including taping, sealing, and painting to a superior finished quality.
  • Repair and treat structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls, and building exteriors.
  • Perform minor repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustments to locks on cabinets, closets, and desks.
  • Schedule and complete preventative maintenance work.
  • Complete grounds work, including grounds pick up, sweeping, and light landscaping.
  • Observe the condition of the facility and report any unusual circumstances.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the grounds, buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and major equipment.
  • Identify the location of power, water, and gas turnoff valves, clean-out traps, fire pulls, extinguishers, and fire hydrants.
  • Clean up thoroughly after performing work in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Notify the Director of Plant Operations regarding necessary supplies.
  • Follow company procedures regarding safety and emergencies.
  • Activate and deactivate building alarms and respond to alarm calls after and during regular work hours.
  • Attend employee meetings and training as requested.
