About The Position

Thule Inc, Seymour Thule Inc., located in Seymour, CT, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to maximize productivity of plant assets by troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing tools and equipment throughout our assembly and fabrication manufacturing facilities. Equipment ranges from hand tools to industrial robotics. This role requires the knowledge and ability to maintain and repair pneumatic, mechanical, electromechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems used in company equipment. Maintenance Tech must work collaboratively with the Production, Fabrication, and Warehouse departments to support a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience or applicable trade school.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Good communications skills and ability to interact positively with others.
  • Computer literacy, Microsoft Office and Computer Maintenance Software or equivalent.
  • Ability to identify safety issues and notice equipment malfunctions.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required during peak business periods and candidate must follow all applicable safety & occupation health, quality, environmental, and security procedures , i.e safety data sheets, personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout, emergency evacuations, recycling, building safety and security; use equipment and materials properly; and promptly report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, accidents and injuries.

  • Computer Maintenance Management System or Enterprise Asset Management system knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment in multiple buildings.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
  • Perform mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, material handling equipment and welding equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area.
  • Setup of production equipment and fixtures.
  • Perform and/or assist Facilities team with minor repairs and general maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall, minor electrical issues, light carpentry.
  • This may include travel between buildings including the Milford warehouse.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leader, supervisor, or management.
