About The Position
To provide maintenance services as needed and/or assigned; assist in a wide variety of maintenance activities addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns. To ensure all aspects of SGS Facilities, laboratories and all other areas are maintained and operating fully.
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma is required.
- Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
- Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
Nice To Haves
- 2-years previous experience in a related field would be a strong asset.
- Forklift license or previous experience with forklifts would be an asset.
- Forklift license or previous 2-years’ experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with work orders as received for various responsibilities throughout the site.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Arrange furniture and equipment for special events or office moves.
- Assisting with set up and tear down of Pilot Plants.
- Assist skilled tradesman.
- Participate in meetings and training to gather information and skills to perform certain functions.
- Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Transport tools, supplies and equipment.
- Set up with functions around site e.g. BBQ’s, large meetings and social functions.
- Prepare written materials (e.g., activity logs, truck logbooks and inspections).
- Perform preventative maintenance duties on various equipment e.g. (dust collectors, roof top fans, onsite vehicles, ventilation hoods, etc.
