About The Position

USA MULTIFAMILY MANAGEMENT, INC. is engaged in the management of residential multifamily communities, developing, building, owning, and managing properties throughout California and Nevada. They specialize in Tax Credit properties (LIHTC). USA Multifamily Management is a subsidiary of USA Properties Fund, Inc. The company offers a collaborative work environment and opportunities for talent development. They are seeking a Maintenance Technician for their 142-unit family community in Reno, NV. This is a non-exempt position with a Monday through Friday work schedule, requiring some flexibility for on-call needs. The company offers competitive salary, depending on experience, at $24 to $26 per hour.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of experience in maintenance
  • Plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Light carpentry

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all major repairs are brought to the attention of either the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Community Manager.
  • Regularly diagnosing and performing minor and routine maintenance.
  • Assisting and performing periodic maintenance property walks and recurring apartment inspections.
  • Consistently producing quality work while upholding maintenance and safety standards.
  • Taking ownership and pride in projects and work tasks.
  • Approaching work in a logical and rational manner.
  • Quickly establishing rapport with colleagues, residents and vendors.
  • Adapting easily to new changes in the workplace at all times.
  • Conducting all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other laws pertaining to apartments.
  • Maintaining and communicating HAZCOM standards; keeping SDS sheets current and readily accessible.
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge of pertinent laws and EPA/OSHA regulations governing proper storage and/or management of hazardous materials including solvents, flammables, caustics, and refrigerants.
  • Checking and replacing exterior lighting on a regular basis.
  • Constantly observing conditions throughout the community and immediately reporting and/or initiating action to correct unsafe conditions.
  • Maintaining awareness of all utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, and sewer cleanouts.
  • Keeping up to date on current bid and contract approval processes.
  • Not purchasing supplies unless directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Community Manager.
