About The Position
The YMCA is looking for dedicated individuals to join our Maintenance Staff. As a key member of our team, you’ll play an essential role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. From ensuring equipment is in top condition to keeping our facilities spotless, your work will directly contribute to the well-being and experience of our community. The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is seeking a responsible and attentive Maintenance Technician to join our team to assist in the maintenance, improvement, safety, and cleaning operations.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of facility maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and other maintenance-related areas preferred.
- Must have the ability to communicate well with others.
- Reliable transportation to attend work.
- Ability to relate to, welcome and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Responsibilities
- Equipment repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, minor plumbing, electrical, and setup/teardown for classes or events.
- Have a good mechanical aptitude, a focus on safety, good communication skills, and be comfortable working independently as well as in a team.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment both within and around the facility.
