About The Position

This is a safety sensitive position. The Maintenance Technician proactively maintains production equipment and facilities for maximum availability. They respond to unscheduled downtime calls as required and make necessary repairs to provide maximum availability. The role also involves working on trials and special projects, including capital projects as requested, and assisting/mentoring operators to increase effectiveness and uptime. The technician must always work safely in a team environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training preferred
• Basic computer knowledge
• Working knowledge of the requirements of OSHA with respect to machine guarding and other maintenance-related topics
• 5 years industrial maintenance experience
• Industrial Electrical experience
• Good communication skills
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume work environment
• Willing to work with and train operators in the cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of equipment as it relates to total productive manufacturing

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automated production equipment preferred
• Experience in a Consumer Products environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains machines proactively to support plant/department goals for productivity, waste, quality, and safety.
• Assures guarding, facilities, and equipment are in good working order.
• Sets up and operates machines and performs necessary duties to meet manufacturing and quality targets after repairs are completed.
• Detects, records, and reports defective equipment to the Shift Manager and Maintenance planner.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per instruction.
• Fills in running machines when necessary.
