About The Position

Austin is seeking a Multi-Craft Technician with a focus on Measurement and Pipeline Maintenance. This role is responsible for a wide range of tasks including custody transfer and inventory measurement, troubleshooting instrumentation, and performing pipeline system maintenance. This role requires strong experience in pipeline operations and maintenance, with the versatility to handle both measurement and general pipeline integrity tasks. This position serves as a front-line representative with customers and the public, ensuring high standards in safety, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One or more years pipeline maintenance experience required
  • Knowledge of measurement systems, densitometers, control systems, and heat exchangers
  • Good driving record
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Ability to read P&IDs and technical drawings
  • Ability to work independently and communicate professionally
  • Ability to supervise or coordinate contractors
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials and heavy equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and enter confined spaces
  • Knowledge of safety practices and PPE requirements

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties in adherence with Austin procedures and standards.
  • Takes personal leadership role in daily activities, task planning, incident investigations and work performance as they relate to Austin’s key focus areas of Safety, Environmental, Quality, Reliability, and Cost of operation.
  • Provides accurate and timely communication to co-workers and works with other functions to improve individual and unit performance.
  • Performs federal, state, and locally required inspections on pipeline facilities and associated equipment.
  • Performs problem solving to prevent interruption of pipeline operations or endangerment to personnel, customers, or the public.
  • Maintains all required training for safety, environmental, and emergency response.
  • Responsible for project execution and contractor inspections on company and third-party facilities.
  • Performs maintenance inspections and testing of measurement equipment per DOT regulations.
  • Installs, calibrates, and maintains metering equipment at custody transfer sites.
  • Performs general pipeline maintenance including valve inspection, pigging support, and LDAR repairs.
  • Supports startup and shutdown activities, commissioning, and coordination with control centers.
  • Performs meter testing and proving in compliance with API, AGA, Sarbanes/Oxley, ISO standards, and Austin Pipeline standards.
  • Maintains orifice plates and process control equipment.
  • Configures instrumentation including transmitters and flow computers.
  • Performs LO/TO and maintains assigned assets.
