About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for analyzing and correcting electrical problems, and repairing and overhauling electrical equipment and controls. This role involves troubleshooting machine issues, modifying PLC programs to meet production needs, and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components. The technician will also work with CMMS for preventive and predictive maintenance, collaborate with equipment manufacturers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes.

Requirements

  • Formal apprenticeship or completion of in-plant maintenance/programming training (OJT) program.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Ability to work all shifts, flexible hours and mandatory overtime.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work without constant supervision.
  • Able to read schematics.
  • Must have a minimum of 4 plus years of industrial millwright/electrical experience with low 5VDC to high 480V/3Phase electrical systems.
  • Required – High School diploma or GED or prior experience/training in manufacturing environment.
  • Required - Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws, policies, and rules.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by company.
  • Must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
  • Must be available and willing to work such overtime as is necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
  • Must be able to stand, bend and stoop.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with glass tempering and Insulated Glass (IG) processes a plus.
  • Familiar with AC/DC power and PLC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze wiring diagrams and system drawings to install and troubleshoot CNC equipment.
  • Work with CMMS system to perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Work with equipment manufacturers and their proprietary programs (Forel, GED, Ashton, Glaston, Biesse, Flow, etc.).
  • Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles.
  • Work with Engineering on continuous improvement of production processes.
  • Complete assigned work orders and project work in a timely manner.
  • Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken.
  • Adhere to housekeeping and safety standards, including the required use of personal protective equipment.
  • Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
