About The Position

The Westover Companies is a family-owned and operated property management company with over fifty years of experience providing quality living, shopping, and working spaces. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our apartment community in Wilmington, DE. This role supports one or multiple apartment properties, handling routine service requests and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will complete work safely and efficiently, providing superior customer service to residents.

Requirements

• Demonstrate the appropriate and safe use of standard hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (water heaters, appliances, rock salt, etc.).
• Ability to shovel and salt as required.
• Perform routine, preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge and practice of a variety of building trade skills.
• Ability to work on step/extension ladders and roofs while following safety protocols.
• Able and willing to lift objects as required.
• Provide own (basic) hand tools.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and working vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, service requests, turnovers, and preventative maintenance to units and common areas.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Share on-call responsibility.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain current preventative maintenance property logs.
• Keep track of inventory and maintain a clean and stocked shop.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Identify safety and hazardous conditions and communicate any issues.
• Follow company operational and safety procedures.
• Work an on-call schedule as required.
